Welcome to KellyJohnson.net.

Here is what is going on with me if anyone is reading this.
(Of course if no one is reading this, then I am basically talking to myself, which is ok. Now is someone were here to see me talking to myself they might think I was a little weird. But then again, if there were someone here I wouldn't be talking to myself.)

I've been getting a lot of emails lately from other Kelly Johnson's. Most of them go something like this: "OMG! R U 4 real? My name is Kelly too. This is crazy" And that is the extent of what they write. Like these people thought they would go through life and never run into someone with the same name as them. So I write them back, then never hear anything again. Its like they felt this irresistable urge to pop an email off to me so that I would get the critical information that somewhere someone out there has the same name as me. Sadly the massive stress of dealing with such earth shattering news renders them incapable of writing back when I respond, or for that matter writing anything of consequence in the first place. WTF? If you are going to take the time to write an email to a stranger why not write more than 1 sentence? If the stranger replies back to you why not reply in turn? I know, massive concepts. But hey, to each his own. If the thought of someone sharing the name Kelly Johnson with you is so boggling, try to wrap your head around this one: In Colorado Springs, Colorado there is a "Kelly Johnson Blvd". Yup, a WHOLE STREET that shares your name! Ok, I am done ranting for today. I look forward to many years of exciting 1-line, dead-end emails. hoo-ray!

I followed up back to back 2500+ miles per year on my bike, with a year spent trying to grow sprouts while I did my best imitation of a potato. So this year I am giving up my potato ways. Well maybe not giving them up, maybe going from a normal potato chip to a baked potato chip. Its still a potato chip, its just a little healthier. To this end I am looking forward to riding my bike a lot more this year. My dad and I have entered to ride in the RideTheRockies. If we don't get into that, we may do the BicycleTourOfColorado instead.
In addition, I have entered several other organized rides, including the Buena Vista Bike Fest , Elephant Rock, Red Canyon Century. I am also thinking of riding in the SOS Ride and the Stonewall Century
I am looking at 1000 miles of signed-up-for organized rides this summer. That doesn't count the number of miles I will need to put in to go from a potato to someone who can ride 1000 miles of signed-up-for organized rides. Ay-carumba!

Also, new photo's are up. I posted all the pictures I took with my digital during 2005. There are still a number of disposable cameras floating around here that need to be developed. When I get those developed, I will post the rest of the 2005 pictures. Get to the pictures via the menu on the left or click on the picture of Trish & I.

My recipe site has quite a few recipes in it now. Whereas when it started the only people that were on the site were friends and family that I begged to use it, there are actual bona-fide strangers using it now! Big time stuff for sure. Of course all the strangers have accounted for about 5 recipes, but you have to start somewhere. At last count the site had a couple of hundred recipes on it. If you haven't been lately, you should check it out again.

I also started a small side business. Its very small scale, very limited as to how much time I can put into it. I am only mentioning it because google stopped taking direct entries for their database, which means they have to find your site on the web, which means that the site has to be linked to by a site it already knows about. Google knows about kellyjohnson.net In fact, this site is the number #1 result for "Kelly Johnson" and is linked to by a bewildering number of sites. Just search for "www.kellyjohnson.net" on google. All sorts of sites will popup with my URL on their pages. So anyway, I am putting it here so google will pick it up. If you want to check it out, pop over.
